Community Links

Science of the Wetlands

As a key part of our mission to democratise sustainability information, we are strongly committed to conceptualising and implementing the Community Links sustainability education program.

These programs, run by our employees and associates based on pro bono and voluntary efforts, are designed to deliver high impact. It is part of our efforts enhance knowledge transfer in order to improve community awareness and bring ownership in decisions linked to local and relevant sustainability issues.

Sustainability education session

Our sustainability education programs focus on engaging children and youth, whose better knowledge and understanding on environmental, social and biodiversity issues will better prepare them to live in harmony with nature and encourage them to choose related education paths.

To create complementarities and synergy in our effort, we implement these programs on the ground by closely collaborating with the Non- Government Organisation, ENDEV, based out of Kolkata, India.

We are keen to partner with other organisation and groups who demonstrate enthusiastic interest, and have creative ideas unravelling the complex links between nature and humans.

At Sustainability Intelligence, we recognise that community participation is a key element in protecting our environment, nature and cultural heritage, as a result, we strongly advocate the democratisation of sustainability information and promote its use by relevant stakeholders

Biodiversity Register Initiative

Biodiversity Register Initiative, Ghoramara Island

At SI, we believe meaningful impact begins with genuine community engagement. Our outreach initiative in Ghoramara Island, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is designed to understand local priorities and co-create solutions in an area facing acute ecological and socio-economic vulnerability. In partnership with ENDEV, the SI team is providing technical support to the local community, the Biodiversity Management Committee, students, and the Ghoramara Gram Panchayat to develop and maintain a People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR). Through this effort, we aim to build local capacity, strengthen community stewardship of natural resources, and demonstrate how collaborative action can drive sustainable development.
